A STEP IN TIME

During the last wet season, a pallet washed up on the shores of Wonga Beach...
It was coated with a marine brown paint and had old drops of yellow and green paint splattered over the top of it.
It appeared to have been used on some sort of shipping vessel...maybe as a platform for maintenance painting on board..anyway, somehow it ended up overboard.
It had obviously been in the water for a reasonable period of time before it got to Wonga as it was thoroughly saturated and took Hans and I all our effort to drag it up the beach..
We left it above the high tide line for weeks till finally it dried out enough for us to make use of it.
Since then it has been our step up into the caravan.
A few days ago we decided to give it a face lift.
After cleaning it up, I gave it two coats of white paint...

We bought some blocks and set up our 'revived' entrance to the van,and added a few quirky 'decorations'.

Meanwhile out in the garden...
We planted a portable vegetable and flower garden 3 weeks ago

Everything is growing nicely..Its magic to be able step outside and collect various herbs veges like basil, fennel, spring onions, celery, garlic leaves, parsley etc to add to whatever your cooking.
We also have cucumber flowering at the moment, busy lizzies, marigolds and petunias,

Capsicum
And tomatoes, both cherry and the normal size.

The fishermen/women in the camp are having success out on the water fishing most days..
The tinnies go out just on light most days if its windstill.

But some of us have to work!
Here's Hans at the 'Office' in Mossman Gorge.

And this is little Zanje (below)... His mum 'mans' the tout on the Daintree River booking and organising crocodile cruises...and where Hans puts his clients onto a cruise as part of the tour they do with him.
He was proud to show Hans his pet Cane Toad he has named Sally.

Whilst on the subject of children...I just thought I'd share my daughter Carina's latest painting...
Painting is her hobby.

Thats all for now!
I will end with my quote for the blog
