New Beginnings...
We ended the decade with a lot of fun and laughter.
Al Cooper went down to visit his son and daughter in law and little Dakoda...the apple of his eye!
As usual we wanted to welcome him home with a surprise...just to reinforce that we missed him!
So this is what he found as he opened up his caravan...
One hot 'lady' to cuddle up to that night!
So of course being a full blooded male he had to pull back the covers to see what lay beaneath!
A little scary perhaps...because he lost interest after that!
But Patrick thought he/she was a bit of alright!
Enjoyed a fanatstic 5 days while my kids were up...they now understand why I love the life I have chosen here. They got into it straight away!
Thats Ben and Jeremy...(one handed fishermen)
Checking whats been dragged in...not much this time!
Thats young Ben...checking the bait fish in the bucket.
Inititation to Early Openers..the sessions repeated every evening after that.
They played 18 holes of golf at the Newell beach club.
Toni having a rest.
And of course the scrabble board came out each night!
Went on a trip to Low Isles with Sailaway...What an awesome day!
Have ever only seen Low Isles from Wonga Beach way away in the distance on the horizon line....Now I know what it looks like for real!
Sailaway IV anchored off Low Isles.
We all donned on the stinger suits, flippers, goggles and took a noodle and went under to view the beautiful corals reef that surrounds this and many other islands that make up the Great Barrier Reef...Were priviledged to see turtles, stingrays, giant clams, a myriad of multicolured reef fish and the amazing variety of corals.
A couple of dodgy looking Seals??
When there is a group of you all wearing the same coloured suits and goggles it's not easy to recognise each other when you surface or under water...that's Toni and Me above.
After 2 and a half hours snorkeling it was back to the boat and lunch...
Beautiful prawns, various cold meats and salad, buns...Yum!
After lunch more time to snorkel nearer the boat.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day out together.
They didnt get alot of time to relax as such as the time goes so quickly.
Toni, in a moment to spare relaxing in the pool at the accommodation they stayed in just down the road from the camp.
Visited my friend Robyn for coffee and beautiful homemade cake...
And then it started to rain...and rain and rain and rain...
So what I'm saying is it poured for 24 hours solid!
Welcome to the tropics kids!
Early openers was split that night as we all couldn't fit under one camp.We were at Patrick's Camp.
Big Al arriving.
Needed a beer after his ride.
Young Ben thought it was great fun!
So did Rachel!
The last night..the weather cleared and it was time for a friendly game of cricket during early openers...
Then onto the Happy Shack for another great Fish A Cue dinner.
Here is the fish we ate...Caught by Tony and Dawn..(very keen fisherpersons)
Mackerel
Ben loved it!
And now they've all gone again...back to their lives, but at least now with an insight of how Mum lives, cos they experienced it with me, for just a little while.
Come Back Soon...Love You!

Oh Diana,
Where did you disappear to? I was keeping track of you via Facebook, but you are no longer there...? Michael and I tried to call you when we were in NZ but MC must have an old telephone number. We spent almost 17 days there in the Bay of Plenty, doing the family thing (whacked!!) and taking day trips to and fro. Back home, now, though, and happy to be so. We seriously considered relocating, but decided to stay here in the states for the future. A trip to OZ might come in the future though! One never knows...all is well here. Glad to see you with your family...beautiful adult children, huh? Love to you in the New Year! Michael C. and Monica
